Marco A. Ruiz is a 20-year resident of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, and a Florida State Certified residential real estate appraiser. Holding a Florida real estate broker's license since age 19, he has an extensive background in the real estate industry and has worked as a salesman, broker, and business broker. Marco held a Florida real estate instructor's license and taught real estate pre-licensing and post-licensing classes at the University of North Florida in the late '80's and early '90's. He began his career as a real estate appraiser in 1994 and became certified in 1996. He incorporated in 1996 as MAR-KAR, Inc., and opened his own firm in 1999, later changing the name of the business to Ruiz Appraising, Inc.
"I love the appraisal business. It's a great mix of working inside at the computer and being outside doing field work. I find it can be very satisfying as it is both an art and a science. I also enjoy meeting and working with my customers, whether they are lenders, lawyers, homeowners, or Realtors. I think it is exciting to see the changes in our industry, as I believe they will ultimately result in more professional appraisers who have set for themselves standards that are higher than ever before. I believe the current economic situation presents opportunities for those in the real estate business who are willing to be flexible, creative, and open-minded. I believe appraisers now, perhaps more than ever, have an opportunity to effect change in their indusrty for the good."
